Meet Dr. Alhalabi

Sama Alhalabi, O.D., is an optometrist at Quantum Vision Centers, serving patients in Swansea, Illinois. Born in Iraq and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Sama is fluent in English and Arabic and is passionate about making quality eye care accessible and approachable for patients from all backgrounds.

Dr. Sama earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. During optometry school, she received the Clinical Excellence in Community Outreach Award for her exceptional patient care, compassion, and impact through clinical service. She also received the Student Ambassador Award in recognition of her involvement in student outreach and mentorship within the College of Optometry.

Her clinical interests include primary eye care and the management of ocular diseases, particularly glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. Dr. Sama believes every patient deserves to feel heard, informed, and comfortable throughout their care. She prioritizes clear communication and meaningful patient relationships while providing thoughtful, individualized care to help protect her patients’ vision.

Outside the office, Dr. Sama enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family, friends, and her cat, Stella.
